Teen Volunteers (Sitters)

During Mother-Child camp there are about 15 teen volunteers. Each one is assigned to one of morning children’s group and will be a helper to the Westwind staff. Their other responsibilities are to set and clear the tables and watch over your cabin from 9:00 P.M. – 11:00 P.M. each evening so you have some time of your own. Teens are an extra hand in art or a play buddy on the beach. You may wish to reserve a sitter in the afternoon to help you with your children on the beach, at the craft house or watch over them if you go on the Cascade Head hike. The sitter rate is $3/per hour per child.

These are volunteers and not staff members. They have some training on safety and how to work with children but are not to be seen as a YWCA Camp Westwind Staff member. They are here to have fun as well as help you enjoy your time with your children. Please be respectful of them but if you have a concern bring it directly to a staff member and we can address it.
